Da Gennaro, Little Italy

I decided to take Mike here for his Birthday dinner, and I have to say, the wait staff was extremely nice.  You’ll come across some of the best and the worst sales people you’ll ever meet when you stroll through Little Italy on a beautiful evening like last Tuesday night, but for some reason, Da Gennaro won us over.  We’d been here once before, but the ambiance of the cozy restaurant, perched on the corner of Mulberry & Hester Streets drew us in for a second time.

The standouts of the night, aside from the Birthday Boy, were the Penne alla Vodka (my Italian go-to), as well as the garlic & oil dip for the bread, which was absolutely delicious.

The final (and my personal favorite) standout?  The accordion player, who serenaded Mike with “Happy Birthday“.

So cute.
