Dear October,

Why are you so hot and cold (literally.)?

How is it possible that I was relaxing on the beach earlier in the month, and a mere three weeks later I’m trudging through slush and snow?

Rumor has it…

that the ever-entitled “Occupy Wall Street” crowd will be venturing uptown… to Bryant Park… a.k.a one block away from my office, at lunchtime today.

Not only that, but apparently they plan to throw “thousands of paper airplanes at the Bank of America building“, which is right across the street. WHY?

Here’s an idea… GET A JOB.

You make me wanna throw my pager out the window, tell MCI to cut the phone poles…

Has anybody listened to the song “Bug-A-Boo” by Destiny’s Child recently?  Let me just say that it was one of the top karaoke songs last night, and I’m still dying over how dated these lyrics are now.

Getting into the Halloween spirit…

As much as I despise Halloween (it’s like New Years Eve to me: no cabs in sight, not to mention it’s completely overrated and beyond stressful), there are aspects to the holiday that I love….

Candy and lots of treats.

Hocus Pocus” on ABC Family.

Fun activities like pumpkin picking, corn mazes, haunted houses, and of course, carving pumpkins…. not to mention the delicious pumpkin seeds for a post-carving treat.

Unfortunately, I did not carve a pumpkin of my own this year, but I can still appreciate the below, courtesy of Refinery29.

YSL Friends & Family Sale

Although the YSL sample sale opened up to the public at 5 o’clock this evening, there was no shortage of deal-hungry publishing riffraff  at the friends and family preview sale earlier in the afternoon.  Not only did I wait over an hour to get into the preview sale, but once you were in and picked up something you liked, there was yet another mile-long line to actually purchase whatever you could get your little paws on.  Apparently Yves St. Laurent has lots of friends…

It may have taken me over an hour to get in, but it took me under 20 minutes to leave.  Not that I was all that disappointed anyway, as I’m sure this was a sign from God that I should no longer be wasting my money on things I don’t need.

All in all, not worth it… and I actually feel bad for those who will be waiting on line for over three hours, only to be disappointed in the end.

Word on the street is that the line is already wrapped around 3 NYC blocks and then some.  Ah, sample sale season.
