The Frick Collection

On Saturday, my Mom and I decided to have a little girl’s day out.

I haven’t been to any museums in New York since I’ve lived in the city, let alone since I’ve been old enough to appreciate them, so my Mom decided to venture in on the LIRR and spend the day walking around Central Park and touring through The Frick.

I always walk by The Frick, since it’s so close to my apartment, but I have never had the opportunity to actually go inside, until Saturday.  The exterior of the museum is absolutely gorgeous… so it only makes sense that it used to actually be a home mansion to Henry Clay Frick, who was a collector of European art dating back to the early 15th century.

The interior is even more impressive than the exterior, from the beautiful architecture to the preserved and restored pieces of art and furniture.  The Frick Collection is definitely something I can appreciate more now, than I would have ten years ago, and I’m so happy that I was finally able to see it!
