Numero 28

My friend, Alana, who is a fellow “pizza and a salad” lover, has been recommending that Mike & I go to Numero 28 on the UES for months and months and months, so we finally decided to take her advice and head up for our Friday night meatless dinner (always the easy solution during Lent).

The restaurant is super cozy and I loved that the brick oven was in the front of the restaurant, as opposed to hidden in the back.  We ordered two pies — the plain cheese and another pie that consisted of artichokes, buffalo mozzarella and truffle cream.  Both were delicious — I mean, it’s pizza! –, but definitely did not have enough crunch.  It was extremely undercooked, but we managed to clean our plates, regardless.

If I were to choose between two cozy pizzerias — Luzzo’s and Numer0 28 — I would have to go with Luzzo’s; no contest.
