Is it just Riley, or do all dogs get really really excited about a new toy? 

So much so that they scurry into a corner so they can have it all to themselves… sometimes until they rip it to shreds and the stuffing comes flying out within 5 minutes. Fortunately for this over-sized toy, Riley remained cool, calm and collected and failed to rip its guts out.

Side note:  I’m obsessed to a slightly unhealthy degree, I know.

It’s no Shake Shack, but the truffle fries and birthday cake shake were pretty damn good.  It’s worrisome that this place is directly across the street from my office…

it’s a miracle…

I have never seen our wine rack so full… let alone holding more than 1 bottle at a time.

On my walk home from work yesterday, I received an email from Mike:

My first game of the Yankees baseball season was perfection… amazing seats, amazing hotdog, ice cold Bud Light in amazing souvenir cups, amazing closing by Mariano, amazing win against the Minnesota Twins.

Friday:

• Allie’s 26th Birthday celebration, held at our tiny apartment.  We fit a record number of 16 people! 

Saturday:

• Pre-noon brunch for 5 at The Sunburnt Cow

• Post-brunch stroll through the East Village & LES

• Pushing our way into B Bar for a post-brunch drink

• Cab back up to the UES for pizza and sangria at Gina’s (Mike & Jon were just thrilled to be here)

• Tipsy stroll back to the apartment for a much-needed siesta

• Ko sushi for dinner

• Bed by 11:00pm

Sunday:

• Window shopping in NoLita

• Chicken parm sandwich at Parm

• Frozen yogurt at Pinkberry

• Frozen yogurt samples at Off the Wall

• Brisk walk along the East River and through the neighborhood

All-in-all, great weekend to kick off this beautiful spring.

Joe Fresh flagship

I checked out the new Joe Fresh flagship earlier last week, which is conveniently located a block from my office, and I fell in love with so many affordable staples, all under $50.
