I’ve had an unhealthy obsession with Tibi for as long as I can remember–in fact I’ve become a bit of a Tibi hoarder collector over the years. Tibi was always the one sample sale that I could never resist. I’d slip out of the office for an early or late lunch break twice a year in order to avoid the crowds, and somehow I never managed to walk out of those sales empty handed. Swimwear, evening wear, embellished dresses, structured jackets, one of a kind pieces… Oh, how I miss those days.
It’s nearly impossible for me to afford those coveted pieces now, but when I found out that Tibi founder, Amy Smilovic would be in Charleston for a runway presentation at the beautiful Charleston Library Society, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. We were the first in the country to shop the fall 2014 collection, but sadly my funds were too slim to make any purchases.
